The Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market is back in person after hosting a virtual event in 2021. Considered to be one of the largest Indigenous art markets in the world, the event March 5-6 will showcase more than 650 Indigenous artists from across North America.
Visitors will have the chance to meet and purchase from the artists. Fashion, beadwork, textiles, jewelry, photography and other visual arts will be on display. There also will be food vendors and cultural performances throughout the weekend.
Admission to the fair also includes access to the galleries of the Heard Museum. Some notable and new exhibitions to see include “Toward the Morning Sun: Navajo Pictorial Textiles from the Jean-Paul and Rebecca Valette Collection” and “Southwest Silverwork: 1850-1940.”

What to expect at the Heard Museum Indian art market
The fair is a juried competition where artists submit their work in various categories. According to Erin Joyce, creative and marketing director and fine arts curator at the Heard Museum, curators and scholars from Arizona State University, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and other entities will take part in the judging.
More than $97,000 in prize money will be awarded across 10 categories. The Best of Show winner will receive $25,000. All art that receives an award during competition will be on display at the Best of Show reception on March 4.
Visitors can purchase tickets to the reception for $100. The reception will include food, drinks, performances and a preview of the winners.
