McNay Art Museum opens new interactive studio

SAN ANTONIO – The McNay Art Museum’s mission to share visible art with the neighborhood of San Antonio and push innovation as a result of today’s youth is found as a result of their new interactive studio which opened on Friday.

The studio design’s goal is to reflect the vibrant gardens that operate throughout the McNay’s 25-acre landscape in the newly opened space. The hope is that the McNay’s oasis-like setting carries inward from the outside of the museum.

The DoSeum Structure Studios conceived the venture alongside McNay’s training, curatorial, and functions staff members.

San Antonio-based mostly artist Soomin Jung Remmler collaborated with Museum staff to produce creative features that make up the imaginative finding out place.

Remmler was born in Seoul, South Korea, and been given her MFA from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Known for her colorfully lively landscape art items, Remmler delivers mother nature and imaginative things into the new studio room for readers to recognize and investigate.


Remmler’s artistic aspects that make up the new studio space responded to the prompt, “What does household signify to you?”

“I established the little village and a household in reaction to the fantastical foliage walls during the Studio since they remind me of the nature that exists inside all of us,” mentioned Remmler.

“The miniature houses, stars, moon, and origami airplanes symbolize house as the position the place one’s heart is,” Remmler explained.

The house is focused to fostering emotions of love, art, and mother nature by neighborhood engagement that drives artistic passions and plans.
