On July 1, Hayes published an op-ed for HuffPost about his time as a member of Savage Backyard garden, his mental well being, and his sexuality.
“Despite the progress I was creating with my mental overall health, the beginning of my solo vocation in the United States was tarnished with homophobia…,” Hayes wrote for HuffPost. “I uncovered there had been fears that audiences would consider I was ‘too gay’ and that my impression needed to be fully overhauled so as not to scare off enthusiasts.”
Given that then, Hayes writes that his concentration in the present day is on “making authentically queer audio.”
“It’s now 2022. I’m proudly out, I have been married to my partner, Richard, for 17 many years and I’m generating authentically queer songs and deliberately undertaking all the factors I had been discouraged from undertaking before in my occupation,” he wrote in his HuffPost op-ed.
Hayes additional, “Because I have embraced myself absolutely in my artwork, I no more time experience the disgrace and stigma close to my sexuality or my psychological overall health.”

Darren Hayes thinks making new music ‘saved’ his ‘life’
In 2013, Hayes took a crack from producing new music. He returned to releasing solo new music in January 2022 with the solitary “Let’s Try out Remaining in Like.”
Given that releasing “Let’s Attempt Remaining in Adore,” Hayes has also dropped two new singles: “Do You Remember?” and “Poison Blood.”
In an interview with People Magazine, Hayes shared that he thinks creating new music has “saved” his “life.”
“I would say my new album honestly saved my lifestyle,” the artist instructed Folks Magazine. “I was in a darkish spot, emotionally, not knowledge that just like my sexuality, my innovative outlet is a big aspect of the individual I am and by denying that, I was denying an important element of me.”

Why the singer-songwriter returned to tunes
Just after decades away from the highlight as a musician, Hayes is back again releasing songs on his conditions. The Australian singer-songwriter made a decision to return to music since of authenticity.
“I recognized that I had under no circumstances actually been myself at the height of my fame and industrial success,” he explained to People today Magazine. “It would have been a huge regret of mine to have retired from the general public eye without having having come back to the entire world as my accurate genuine self.”
In addition to releasing new new music, Hayes will also return to touring and will be putting on the “Do You Don’t forget?” Tour in 2023.
